Key Features
descriptionEditor Analysis:
- Earn a sign-up bonus of $150 in Disney Dollars after spending $500 in the first three months after your card is issued.
- Cardholders can receive numerous Disney discounts such as 15% off select tours, like "Keys to the Kingdom," at Disney World and Disneyland, and 10% off select merchandise purchases at select locations and 10% off at select dining locations most days at the Disneyland® Resort and Walt Disney World® Resort.
- The rewards program offered with this card is weak. The card can help you save while at Disney, but if you're also looking for a strong rewards program, this might not be the best option for you.
CardName rewards
To be candid, the Disney credit card rewards program is nothing to get too excited about. You can earn a sign-up bonus of $150 in Disney Dollars after spending $500 in the first three months after your card is issued. In addition, you can earn a flat 1% on all purchases made with the card. But that’s about it.
Disney Dollars can be redeemed by using a special redemption card at Disney parks and resorts and official Disney affiliated stores and online retailers.
CardName benefits
While the rewards program is limited, the perks that come with the CardName are where this card really shines. Whether you are planning a vacation to a Disney resort or cruise, you will find major discounts and special access that comes with this Disney rewards credit card.
Visa Disney credit card perks and discounts include:
- Cardmember discounts, plus 0% financing on select Disney vacation packages: Enjoy 0% promotional APR on select Disney vacation packages for 6 months from the date of purchase (regular APR of RegAPR applies after the promo period)
- 10% off select merchandise purchases at select locations
- 10% off at select dining locations most days at the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort
- 10% off on select purchases at DisneyStore.com
- 15% off select tours, such as "Keys to the Kingdom," at Disney World and Disneyland
- Access to special character experiences at Disney World and Disneyland
- 10% off Disney Cruise Line photo packages
- 10% off select Disney Cruise excursions
- 20% off Disney Cruise spa treatments
These perks alone can save you hundreds of dollars on your Disney vacation.
It should also be noted that additional perks and discounts are available through the Disney resorts at Aulani, Vero Beach and Holton Head Island.
Potential downsides of the CardName
The rewards program offered by this no-annual fee Disney credit card is not strong. The $150 sign on bonus is easily attainable but doesn’t stack up well against other cards of this type. Similarly, earning just 1% (in Disney Dollars) on every purchase is not enticing.
A $0 annual fee makes the CardName a "no-lose" card but given that you’re likely to only take advantage of the card perks one week a year, it could wind up stuck in the back of your wallet or gathering dust on your bureau.
How does the CardName compare to other cards?
CardName vs. CardName

When deciding which of these sister cards is the better option for you, you’ll want to look at the difference in fee and what you receive for that extra cost.
CardName carries an annual fee of AnnualFees. The card carries all the perks and benefits of the no-annual-fee Disney credit card, but with several attractive added features.
The sign-up bonus for the CardName is $300 in Disney Dollars (as opposed to $150) when you spend at least $1,000 in the first three months after your card is issued. And rather than earning a flat 1% on all purchases, you can earn a healthy 5% on purchases made at Disneyplus.com. Hulu.com and ESPNPlus.com. This includes straight subscriptions, bundles and add-ons, such as pay-per-view features.
You can also earn 2% at gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants, Disney vacation packages, Disney resorts and official Disney stores and online retailers. On all other purchases, you would still earn 1%.
The CardName also has the added perk of being able to redeem your Disney Dollars for travel with select airlines.

Before you can enjoy the perks of your Disney vacation, you have to get to your destination. Over the years, Southwest Airlines has emerged as a family-friendly favorite among travelers. If that rings true for you, the Southwest Plus credit card may offer certain advantages you could appreciate.
Unlike the CardName, CardName carries a AnnualFees annual fee. However, it also comes with a great welcome offer: You can earn 50,000 bonus points after spending $1,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening. As an added bonus, you earn 3,000 points on each anniversary of your account.
Through the CardName rewards program, you earn two points for each dollar spent with Southwest Airlines; two points for each dollar spent local transit and commuting (including rideshares); on internet, cable and phone services, and select streaming; and one point for all other purchases.
While the Southwest card doesn’t offer the discounts and fun perks offered by the Disney Visa, it has its share of benefits. You get free bag checks, no change fees and no blackout dates when redeeming your points. Southwest also offers priority boarding for families and has no assigned seating. This can make life much easier when traveling with your family and looking to seat children.
For frequent Southwest flyers, the airline also offers its attractive Companion Pass program. Once earned, it allows you the option to select one companion to fly with you on any Southwest flight, for just the cost of taxes and fees. Essentially, it gets you two-for-one plane tickets.
Is the CardName worth it?
If you are a mega-Disney fan and love to visit their parks, it can save you money to have the CardName in your wallet for your visits to Disney. The perks and discounts can be valuable. However, if you only visit Disney once every few years, you may find better value in another, more general travel credit card.
